Recently I got a note from Google stating that our Google Places Account had been removed because someone had reported that the listing had incorrect information – our business name. Instead of verifying the business name Google had removed our Google Places listing which has resulted in quite a few missed sales opportunities.
The moral of this story is simple; if you want to screw your competitor flag their Google Places Account. Google apparently does not verify the legitimacy of the account nor does it back up their actions with any logic.
